Honda Asimo Robot Gets Awesome Upgrades

Honda Asimo Robot Gets Awesome Upgrades - recently demonstrated the latest version of Asimo, its super-advanced humanoid robot. The update is the first since 2005. The 2011 edition of Asimo is thinner, lighter, faster, and “more intelligent” than its predecessors. The robot weighs 48 kilograms, which is six kilos lighter than the previous model. It also has 57 joints, 23 more than last time, and now walks at 9 kilometers per hour instead of 6km/h.
Asimo’s advanced intelligence enables it to track conversations between different people, recognizing the faces and voices of every speaker even while they are talking simultaneously. The robot can also stop a certain action temporarily and resume the task after performing another one in between, such as opening a can of beer and pouring it into a glass.
The new robot can also follows commands that would make it kick a ball or hop with one or two legs. Honda even claims that it can even predict the direction a person will walk within the next few seconds using pre-set space sensors and would even try to walk an alternate path in case to avoid a possible collision with that person.
It makes you wonder what more Asimo can do in the years to come.
